Our Vision

The vision we hold is to be and shine the light of thousands of years old ancient vedic sanskrit scriptures transported into transcendental bhakti fine art. Using classic techniques capturing the beauty, emotion & poetry of the Spiritual World. Fine Art brought to you by Sacred Art exclusively with legendary veteran husband and wife team Ram Das Abhiram Das & Dhrti Dasi.

The brand Sacred Art was a vision that was created in August 2018 by Founder and Global Brand Ambassador Sanjiv Odedra who happened to have met Dhrti Dasi and Ram Das Abhiram Das by chance whilst on a spiritual pilgrimage retreat at a Castle in Central France. Sanj was absolutely amazed by this art, really taken back and felt a deep connection through some of the art pieces that were in the main castle reception area where it was displayed and knew that there was a bigger mission here and to create something special to share and showcase this exquisite unique devotional fine art globally and to have a modern day platform to make this art accessible to people around the world where they can have a visual connection to the Divine in their homes.

Sacred Art is also to honour the lifetime achievement works of fine art masterpieces by two amazing dedicated visionary artists, Dhrti Dasi and Ramdas Abhiram Das who have devoted their lives to painting bhakti fine art and to now provide the finest quality limited edition Giclee canvas and fine art paper prints and exclusive original one-off commissioned pieces of fine art and portraits to a global audience. Every day we may struggle to understand the Dharma, or right action, for the constantly changing circumstances of our lives. We may also struggle to renew the focus of our hearts on love. It is Sri Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who most effortlessly guides us in the meaning of love, devotion, wisdom and true freedom from karma. It is he who is the epitome of Love and carries the messages of truth and compassion. This art, described by many as “Window portals into the spiritual world” is to honour Shri Krsna and His pastimes.

He is waiting for you… and we look forward to serving you. We welcome you to the Temple of Sacred Art.

Dhrti Dasi

Born in 1957 in Wroclaw, Poland, as Miriam Briks, Dhrti Dasi, was introduced to art at the age of five and later studied it formally at the Art Students League of New York and the School of Art and Design, also in New York. After completing her graduation in 1975, she went to Los Angeles where she joined the artists at the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT) art studio. She stayed there for four years, working on many projects, including a 24-volume series of the Chaitanya Charitamrita, a classic Gaudiya Vaishnava text from India. Dhrti met her husband, Ramdas Abhiram Das, at the BBT art studios, where they worked on many pieces together. In 1979 they went to Florence, Italy where Dhrti headed a BBT art department. Whilst in Italy, she studied at the Academia de Siena, and began exhibiting her work in Italy, France, and England. She returned to the United States in 1986, and began following the Impressionistic style of painting. Though trained primarily in classical art, her work includes more varied use of color and strong gestural strokes, inspired greatly by the artists Sargent, Chase, Sorolla and Zorn and her studies of Indian epics. Her portrayal of figuration is skillful and evocative and vividly brings alive the featured narratives. Dhrti’s works are found in many private collections throughout the United States and Europe, and she continues to work from her base in the US.

Ram Das Abhiram Das

Born in 1951 in Maui, Hawaii, as Kevin Albert Yee, Ram Das Abhiram Das, graduated with a degree in Fine Art from California State University at Fullerton. He began his career by doing illustration work, first for an international publishing company and later for the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT). He was the Art Director for the Italian BBT for six years. Though trained initially in classical art and illustration, over the years he has developed his own style, marked for its spontaneity and mystique. Narratives set amidst nature, he has painted more than 300 oil paintings and his work has been exhibited in Italy, France, Belgium, England, South Africa, and India.

Interview with Artist Dhrti Dasi - Bhakti in Perspective

Past Art Seminars & Workshops

Dhrti Dasi and Ram Das are married artists who create individually and also have together created many of their paintings cooperatively. Dhrti draws the figures, while Ram focuses on the landscape.

The couple combines the western approach of realism, perspective, atmosphere, and apply it to vedic literature. They are trying to depict a divine realm that is beyond the mundane. A painting to uplift the viewer, therefore transcendent.

Both artists have been teaching transcendental art workshops in India and Europe as well as illustrating such Vedic classics as the Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam since 1975.
